1979 was a milestone year, as it was then that the artisanal company that put the Roditiki Ladopitta on the commercial map was founded. Dimitris Atsalakis, together with his wife Alexandra and later their daughters, managed to transform a traditional recipe into a high-quality product. The secret lies in simplicity and quality: pure ingredients, handmade opening of the phyllo and a “secret” recipe that gives the pita this airy, tender texture and the characteristic aroma of oil, without becoming heavy or greasy.
Beyond the souvlaki: A multi-tool in the kitchen
Although Ladopitta was initially identified with the Rhodesian souvlaki, its evolution in recent years is impressive. Today, Roditiki Ladopitta is used as a base for imaginative dishes: from savory “tacos” with seafood, shrimp or chicken, to a base for pizza or a side dish for dips and salads. But the innovation does not stop there. The company has also launched “Crispy Ladopittakia”, a snack reminiscent of chips but with the authentic taste of pita, available in various flavors (such as Spinach, Tomato, Beetroot), ideal for any time of day.
Sweet sins with Aegean aroma
One of the biggest surprises this product offers is its versatility in sweet preparations. As modern serving suggestions show us, ladopitta can be a worthy replacement for crepe or Arabic pie. Slightly warmed and filled with chocolate praline, fresh strawberries, honey or nuts, it transforms into a traditional yet modern dessert that steals the show on every table.
